Anixter Village is an accessible apartment building designed for adults with Spina Bifida. Anixter Village is conveniently located within the Illinois Medical District at 2059 W. Washburne, Chicago. It's owned and operated by Anixter Center and governed by HUD regulations. It's built with the needs of an individual with Spina Bifida in mind.  To request a tenant application for Anixter Village, call the Anixter Center at 1-773-761-1501. Choose extension 9, for "HUD questions" and leave a message asking them to send you an application for Anixter Village.

Their Statewide Referral Network is a way to connect people who are already accessing supportive services to the housing they need.  Their Home Accessibility Program (HAP) can provide up to $25,000 to help seniors and persons with disabilities make repairs and modifications that improve accessibility and safety.

Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities HOMEMOD Program
People with disabilities in Chicago can apply for accessible home modifications through this program. 

Proviso Township Home Modification Program

Proviso Township funds this program and Progress Center for Independent Living administers it.  Residents in Proviso Township are eligible for the program.  The program is not based on income.  Limit is $1,500 per household for home modifications.  If the cost is above $1,500, the balance has to be paid out of pocket.  Call the number above for more info. 

UCP Seguin Ramp Up Program
Ramp Up can provide ramps and interior modifications that make homes accessible to people with disabilities in Cook County.
